Jessica - USA

In February ‘06 I left my home (a non-disclosed location) in Ohio to set off on a Journey of vast proportions. I did my DTS in Brisbane Australia. My outreach was to the Middle East. I received my certificate 3 in discipleship in August ‘06 and returned home so my mom could place my accomplishments on the fridge. I have now found my way to Oxford, New Zealand (not sure how) and am currently doing a BLS. At the moment I am waging war on the mold and disarray that is housekeeping. Some may ask how I am able to do my job so well, and my reply is “I am merely a woman after the cleanliness that is next to Godliness.” Although I have hopes to staff the January ‘07 AW80 DTS, The shininess of a clean base will always be my heart (cough, cough)!

Okay, for real I love to laugh and to have fun. I love Jesus and without him my life would be stinkin’ boring and just not worth it. I will go to the ends of the earth to show the unloved and forgotten his overwhelming love for them! I have a heart for igniting the fire in today’s youth to set ablaze the dreams and gifting that God has placed in their hearts! I am all about revolutionizing the way youth are seen and changing the way people view my loving father.

Raphël - Switzerland

Raphaël did his AW80 DTS here in Oxford from January to June 2007. He went in Far East Asia on Outreach. After taking a short break at home and travelling a few weeks around the world, Raphaël is back on the base as an intern and is looking forward to hopefully staffing the next AW80 DTS.

Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Shannon - USA

Greetings, my name is Shannon. I’m also known as Shan, Shanny, Shandy, Sha-na-na-na, Shananigans, Sha-non, Shanaynay, Shansonite, Tigerlily, Goldie Locks, Hey you or H-squared (don’t ask). I’m currently interning for YWAM Oxford as the Hospitality Coordinator. In other words, I’m the friendly face you’ll see if you come to visit the base! I coordinate special events on base, I give tours, and I basically just practice hospitality.

I did the Around the World in 80 Days DTS here in Oxford in January, 2007. I went from the beautiful, lush New Zealand to the hot sands of the Middle East with my team of 5 Americans and a Kiwi (native New Zealander). After graduating in Jerusalem in June, I made my way back home to Colorado to raise support in order to come back to New Zealand for the October-December internship. My goal is to staff the January 2008 AW80 School, after the internship, and complete the BLS (Basic Leadership School) in June, 2009.

I enjoy long walks on the beach, eating spaghetti by candlelight, and magic carpet rides in the moonlight over the Arabian Desert. Haha, but seriously, I love Jesus and I’m passionate about following Him on this crazy adventure that is life. My life comes down to this: Love God, Love People, Follow Jesus. He is my overwhelming delight, my incomprehensible peace and my ever-increasing strength. Praise the LORD, oh my soul!!

“My desire is to see the nations and individuals fall in love with Christ. I want to help the broken and lost of the world find true freedom and joy in Him. I have a heart to see healing and restoration for victims of injustice, and a greater awareness of justice issues for people throughout the world.”

Dan and Becky - Portugal and Holland

Hey, we’re Dan and Becky and we did the AW80 dts this year in January. After outreach in South America and travelling through Europe and Asia we decided to come back to this place to serve and hopefully staff the next AW80 school.

We both have a passion for music and worship. We do not only want to grow in this area ourselves but also tell young people about living this life of worship.

Staff (April)

Julie Anna - USA

I have been in YWAM for two years - I was a student with the January “Around the World” DTS in 2006, and in 2007 I staffed the April “Around the World” DTS. Before YWAM I did various missions trips that took me to Guyana, Argentina, El Salvador, and in the states.

A little background: I am originally from Denver, Colorado, but now I call Nashville, Tennessee, home. I went to school for Communications at Lee University and graduated in 2002.

Basically - I love this whole DTS process. It’s an awesome time to really know God more and do it all over the world! The Lord continues to expand my horizons and go far beyond any ideas I ever had of Him!

Jessica - USA

I graduated university in May of 2004 with intentions of pursuing graduate school. After hearing about a missionary program that allowed me to experience the world and travel, I committed to a DTS here in Oxford for 5 months. Never in a million years would I have imagined that through the DTS I would have become a full time missionary! The scripture in Jeremiah 29:11 truly came alive to me during my DTS. After fully surrendering my desires to the Lord, I held His hand and allowed Him to lead me down HIS path and plan for my life. So my desire for pursuing graduate school took the backseat as I did my second school with YWAM (BCC) and then went on to Kona, Hawaii to staff two DTS’ there. After staffing in Hawaii, I did a 5 month internship at the House of Prayer in Tauranga, NZ and now I am back in Oxford staffing the Around the World DTS!!!

Throughout the past few years of partnering with the Lord, I have come to realize that He desires us to live life and life to the fullest! When one is open to allowing the Lord to be the Lord of EVERY area of ones life, there is freedom and life abundantly in and through that process.

Matt - USA

Matt is from Alaska and has been serving here at YWAM Oxford since January 2007. He quit his job as an engineer to come and do an Around the World in 80 days DTS here at Oxford in Jan 2006, after travelling with his outreach team through Asia and graduating in Israel with his class, he decided to come back to Oxford.

Matt is all about seeing young people equipped to know God and make Him known in the nations. He is a gifted intercessor and carries authority to speak into the spiritual realms. He’s blessed YWAM Oxford mightily through his servant heart, love and compassion. He’s plays a key role in our staff team.

Fleur - New Zealand

I did the AW80 DTS in January 2007. My outreach was in the Middle East…YAY 5 Americans and a Kiwi!! After graduating I travelled through Europe for a few weeks before coming home to NZ. My plan was to intern in September, but God changed that! I staffed a DTS in Auckland September 2007 and lead a team to Indonesia Decmeber 07/January 08!

My heart is to see a generation of young people raised up, sick of living “Christianity Light”, fully in love with Jesus and the world around them! Gods broken my heart for New Zealand and has called me to take young people out of New Zealand into all the Earth…pretty much from the ends of the earth to the rest of the earth! I love that i get to see God in all different cultures and countries, seeing His fingerprints wherever I go. I love the beach, music, soy spiced chai lattes, old cars, crocheting and Jesus!
