In addition to the school fees, there is a required transportation and activity fee of $NZ650 per student. This fee covers the cost of transport, organized weekend activities, and a trip into the nearby city of Christchurch every Friday night. Throughout the twelve-week lecture phase, the students are given many opportunities to see various local sights and participate in outdoor exercise.

Some weekend activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Surfing
  • Rock climbing at the popular and breathtaking Castle Hill
  • Caving through Cave Stream, which is close to where the scenic movie Narnia was filmed
  • Hiking some nearby mountains and trails with breathtaking views
  • Soaking in the thermal hot pools of Hanmer Springs
  • Overnight camping opportunities
  • Mountain biking
  • River tubing
