Come Volunteer

Join us as a short-term volunteer at YWAM Oxford

Interested in joining the YWAM Oxford family for a season? Come join us as a short-term volunteer! We call people in these roles Mission Builders, since they have not completed a Discipleship Training School (DTS), but still want to volunteer their time and talents to the mission. There are many benefits of joining our family for a period of a few weeks to three months, and we encourage you to consider partnering with us in this way. If you have specific trade or maintenance skills, ministry passions, culinary talent or creative abilities, please get in touch to find out more.

Volunteer Testimonials

Mission building at YWAM Oxford was such a blessing to us. Through it, we got to contribute to missions in the small way possible for us at this time in life, with two little children. Living in community and being a part of the family on base was a real gift, as we were always surrounded by caring, helpful and encouraging people. I feel like we were blessed *at least* as much by the YWAM Oxford family as we were able to help them. I also learned a lot about being a blessing through who you are, more than through what you do. In addition, we got to see the most beautiful country in the world!

For me, the few months I spent mission building was incredibly healing and overall the “reset” in life I needed. I spent most of my days working in the garden and helping to prepare meals for everyone on base. Building relationships was great and I experienced sincere and genuine love from every single person I met, but honestly the time I had alone with myself and the space to connect with God in a way I hadn’t since my DTS or SBS, some six years previous, was exactly what my tired, and frankly jaded heart needed. I experienced love, peace, and purpose at YWAM Oxford. I left refreshed and with a clear vision for what my next steps were.

I have been a mission builder off and on for the past 9 years. I have loved serving alongside others that share the same vision of discipleship and learning the different ways that looks like. It’s a real growing and sharing of how God sees us, and being the light through his grace and mercy. Also championing YWAM students and seeing how their lives have changed through their DTS’s makes me want to continue serving. The benefits of mission building for me far outweigh the service I gave. I have forever friendships and a joy in my heart from serving.
